£3 burger and chips?!...surely not

As the famous Tik Tok once said: "This is only £5 chicken burger and chips, so nice, such a bargain and proper nice as well". (If you haven't seen this Tik Tok please go and watch it, my friends and I find it so funny and quote it on the daily). Anyway, back to the real bargain: £3 for a burger and chips!!! YES, you heard me right, I did say £3!  All of you will be wondering where this staggering deal can be found, well look no further than Bloc+. Bloc+ is located at the heart of Glasgow on Bath Street.

Bloc+ offers a variety of food, including pizzas, burgers, wings - the list is endless. Each day of the week the bar offers a different deal, these include the following: Pasta Monday (£3), Burger Tuesday (£3), Steak Wednesdays (£5), Kentucky Thursday (4) and Bloc+ Dog Friday (£4). All of which are unbelievable deals and even more incredible due to the large portion sizes available. It should also be noted that Bloc+ do a wide variety of vegetarian and vegan option, so the venue does cater to all needs. It is a typical bar with a variety of spirits, beers and wines which are all reasonably priced.

My friends and I decided to visit on a Tuesday at about 5:30pm. It only made sense for us to all choose the burger to see how good this deal actually was. Wow! We weren't disappointed. I can tell you that much. The portion sizes were big, with none of us being able to finish our meals and usually we are all part of the clean plate brigade! The food was excellent value for money and I can see why this place is so popular amongst a variety of age groups as it really does cater to everyone's needs.

Bloc+ currently aren't taking bookings and are only accepting walk-ins. We went early to avoid disappointment, due to seeing people queue outside on various other nights of the week. When we arrived all other tables were full and we managed to get the last available table. However, the service inside is very speedy so I wouldn't be put off by a queue outside as I am sure you would get seated quickly. I would say we received our food order within 10 minutes of ordering. This means Bloc+ is ideal if you need somewhere to stop off quickly for a bite to eat.

The atmosphere within Bloc+ was very inviting considering the current situation, with people's conversations creating a welcoming environment. During non-coronavirus times Bloc+ provides live music from different bands and DJs 7 days a week, which really adds an extra element to the bar.

This place is definitely a hidden gem within Glasgow, providing amazing deals whatever day you chose to visit! All COVID-19 measures were in place and were being following by all staff and customers, making the experience feel safe in such an unusual time. Bloc+ is getting added to Row's Recommendations with a 10/10 rating. Amazing service and unreal food - you can't go wrong!

Pasta from Glasgow made better than pasta from Italy?!...surely not

Coming from an Italian family I find it very difficult to find pasta at a restaurant that still hits the same taste buds as the pasta that is made by my Italian grandma. However, Sugo's pasta has to be one of the BEST pasta (from a restaurant) I have ever tasted! If you don't believe me you need to try for yourself...
